Flying Together Through Storms and Rainbows

This painting was created from my heart, inspired by my own marriage and by every couple I have encountered along the way.

The birds represent a couple. One flies with its wings raised, the other with its wings lowered—symbolizing two different individuals, with different ways of thinking and being, yet choosing to fly toward the same destination. As Jesus said, “How can two walk together unless they agree?”

Life is not made only of calm skies. Along the journey, we must pass through both storms and rainbows. The storms are represented by the grey areas of the painting—moments of conflict, uncertainty, and struggle. The rainbows symbolize peace, miracles, and light: gentle reminders that hope always follows the storm.

We grew up watching fairy tales that ended with a princess marrying the perfect prince, followed by the words “and they lived happily ever after.” Because of this, many of us believe marriage will be effortless. But every relationship faces challenges—differences, daily struggles, misunderstandings, and the work of learning to live together. Today, many couples give up at the first frustration.
