March Blog: Painting Loose Flowers & Learning from Other Artists đ¸
Spring is here, and I really wanted to paint flowers, to feel the season and its colors. But sometimes, ideas donât come easy. Loose flowers turned out to be trickier than I imagined. At first, they looked⌠a little off: not enough water, colors that didnât work together, brushes that didnât do what I wanted.
Thatâs when learning from other artists becomes so nourishing. Seeing different perspectives, techniques, and approaches can open your mind â especially when thereâs a subject that feels tricky. I often remind myself: itâs okay to follow a tutorial, and itâs okay to be in a learning mode rather than teaching. And I love and enjoy a lot learning!Â
One of my favorite places to learn is Skillshare. For this project, I followed a class by the talented floral artist Joly Poa, and it was exactly what I needed. I loved experimenting with different brushes and even letting go of my fear of painting on black paper.

For this project I used:
- Legion Paper Stonehenge 300 gsm
- Art Philosophy and PWC watercolors
- Filbert and round brushes
And I want to share one of my favorite colors from PWC LavenderÂ

The result? My own version of her tutorial, adapted to my style and spring inspiration. đˇ

Remember: learning is a gift we give ourselves. Every brushstroke, every mistake, and every new technique brings us closer to discovering our own artistic voice.
I would love to see your flowers this spring season! You can upload them here, and we can all get inspired together. Also, if you have any doubts or questions, feel free to send them in the comment box.
