How to Turn Your Watercolor Paintings into Stickers using Canva
A fun and easy way to bring your art to life — I’ll guide you through how to transform your watercolor creations into adorable stickers, perfect for planners, packaging, or gifts.
Now that you’ve painted your autumn leaves (or any watercolor design), let’s turn them into stickers! 🍁

No Canva? No problem!
If you don’t have Canva, don’t worry — you can still make beautiful stickers!
Simply stick your watercolor paper directly onto a sheet of sticker paper, and then cut around each design, leaving a small white border around the edges.
It’s simple, handmade, and gives a lovely artisan look to your stickers. ✂️
If you do have Canva:
Step 1: Prepare your artwork
Scan your watercolor painting at 600 DPI resolution to get the best print quality.
Save the file as TIFF or PNG — both formats keep the colors bright and details clear.
Step 2: Create your Canva design
Open Canva and start a new design — A4 size works perfectly if you plan to print at home.
Upload your scanned artwork to Canva.
Select the image and click “BG Remover” (available for Canva Pro users) to remove the paper background.
Step 3: Edit and separate your elements
Use the Adjust tools to fine-tune your image — increase brightness, contrast, or saturation if needed.
If you scanned several elements together, you can:
- Use the “Crop” tool to isolate each element and copy-paste them onto new pages, or
- Use Edit > Grab (or the selection tool) to select one element at a time and duplicate it.
This way, you’ll have each leaf, acorn, or mushroom as a separate element to arrange freely.
Step 4: Design your sticker sheet
Now the fun part — arrange your elements!
You can organize them by theme (autumn leaves, florals, etc.) or mix them creatively.
Add some text if you want — Canva has many pre-designed options like:
- Happy Autumn
- Thankful & Blessed
- Hello November
- Happy Thanksgiving
Step 5: Print your stickers
When your layout is ready, export it as a PDF (for print).
To print at home, use Sticker Photo Paper (you can find great options on Amazon).
In your printer settings, choose:
- Paper type: Photo Glossy
- Quality: High
Once printed, let the sheet dry completely, then cut out each sticker.

✨ And that’s it!
You’ve just turned your watercolor paintings into beautiful custom stickers — ready to decorate your planner, gift tags, or small packages.
